Membership fees paid to the Barrie Speed Skating Club automatically include the following benefits: memberships in the Barrie Speed Skating Club, membership and attendance privileges in the Ontario Speed Skating Association and association sponsored events for competitive skaters (OSSA membership continues to December of the next season year), membership in Speed Skate Canada and insurance coverage. Barrie Speed Skating Club coaches are endorsed and retain current recognition by the above stated organizations.

The Club Coaches will discuss best class placement with all skaters. We require a balance between the number of skaters on the ice and the level of instruction required.

This program is targeted to those new to the sport of speed

skating and those interested in maintaining their level of fitness through speed skating. The hour

will consist of instruction appropriate to the age of the skater. It may include warm-up, skill

progression, laps, relays, games and a cool-down period. The hour may occur on either day of the

week.

This program is targeted at the younger competitive skaters and occurs twice per week.

The 50 minutes of on-ice instruction will consist of warm-up, skill progression, laps, relays,

games and a cool-down period appropriate for the competition level plus a 20 minute overlap

with the advanced skaters.

This program is targeted at the more advanced competitive skaters. Those interested

in advancing their skill level will participate in the second hour of the club’s twice weekly session

(including a 10 minute overlap with the junior competitive skaters).

Competitive - $95

Recreational Only $80

Family (2 adults/2 or more children) $220

If registered with another OSSA club, please indicate

Any member of the public may become an associate member. Skaters under 18 years of

age must register at least one parent as an associate member.

Non-residents of the City of Barrie (or those without a reciprocal agreement) are

charged an additional fee collected by the city for each individual using its

facilities.

Applies to second and additional family members:

Skating once per week ($65 off  second/third registration fee)

Skating twice per week ($100 off second/third registration fee)
